**Job Summary:**

Instruct classes in a safe and effective manner according to type of class, age of participants and experience of class participants. Requires minimal supervision.

**Essential Functions:**

* Maintain a safe exercise environment.

* Develop safe and effective choreography according to type of class and experience of class.

* Demonstrates knowledge and ability to modify member care needs according to patient age.

* Provide a safe warm-up and cool-down consisting of light aerobics and stretching for 5-10 minutes.

* Monitor perceived exertion and heart rate during cardiovascular workout.

* Select appropriate background music according to type of class and participant preference.

* Ability to lead and motivate class participation.

* Ability to substitute for water and land aerobics.

* Assist in training Level I aerobic instructors in certification requirements.

**Minimum Position Requeirements**

*Experience:*

* 6 months Experience teaching group exercise.

*Licenses and Certifications:*

* One or more of the following certifications: Aerobics instructor certifications or other nationally recognized certifications.Certifications may include AFAA, ACE, AEA, cooper, ACSM , Zumba, BodyPump, Turbo Kick, Tia Chi, Yoga , Pilates , Barre

* BLS- CPR within 3 months
