Covenant Christian High School (Indianapolis) seeks a committed Christian leader for the full-time position of Academic Dean. Ideal candidates for this position have an advanced degree in the field education or other applicable field and bring a wealth of experience in both curriculum development and pedagogy. The Academic Dean is a coach and mentor to all teachers and academic Department Heads, promoting flourishing, collaboration, growth, and accountability through our academic programming. The Academic Dean will ensure that a biblical Christian worldview permeates all academic programming through regular collaborative training and equipping of our faculty.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Accreditation – The Academic Dean will be the lead person in managing the accreditation process as well as maintaining the schools accreditation status.
DOE awareness – The Academic Dean will be the key contact person for the Department of Education
Curriculum – The Academic Dean will lead the school in curriculum development
Cross Discipline liaison – The Academic Dean will develop and implement interdepartmental relationships.
Teacher Mentoring and Resourcing – The Academic Dean will be the lead teacher mentor.
Evaluative Tools – The Academic Dean will develop and implement programmatic evaluation tools.
Professional Development – The Academic Dean will manage the professional development process.
Academic Strategic Planning - The Academic Dean will work with the Principal/CEO to develop and implement long-range goals for the school’s academic programs.
Reporting directly to the Principal/CEO, the Academic Dean will work closely with his/her direct reports (department heads) to encourage school-wide buy-in to the academic initiatives of the school.
