You may also be required to meet with parents, teachers, and administrators to develop IEPs for students at various schools within the district.
Your students will vary in age from grades K-12, to be determined by the school district. You may be asked to travel to multiple campuses to perform PT evaluations or provide PT services to students. You will perform professional assessments of student’s physical abilities and progress, providing recommendations of PT interventions that will remove learning barriers and maximize their ability to participate fully in a school environment.
Depending on the individual needs of each student, you will provide tailored pull-out PT services to help students overcome physical limitations in order to be successful in the classroom and develop essential life skills. Services may focus on developing strength, range of motion, or balance; gait training; improving gross motor control; and/or practice using assistive devices such as a wheelchair, cane, or walker.
