About the role As a Utility Operator, you will be responsible to perform a variety of operational tasks safely and efficiently in a fast-paced and dynamic industrial environment to support Covanta’s industrial disposal process. This is a labor-intensive entry-level position with the potential for advancement. Position Responsibilities: Responsible for the upkeep, maintenance, and operation of the plant and its component equipment Responsible for execution of cleaning assignments, grounds keeping, and assisting plant operations and maintenance as requested Full participation in our extensive safety program is required, including diligent use of the Safety Observation System in Process Map. Additional duties as assigned to ensure safe and efficient facility operations Position Requirements & Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred Covanta offers GED Works – a fully funded program for employees to achieve their GED.
