Courtyard Matthews is Hiring a Hotel Preventative Maintenance Technician Near Matthews, NC

We offer Daily pay! Access up to 50% of your earned wages after every shift.

The Courtyard by Marriott, located in Matthews, NC, is looking for a part-time Preventative Maintenance Technician. The hours for this position are 12pm-8pm; weekday and weekend availability is required.

PRIMARY PURPOSE: Perform scheduled preventative maintenance in guest rooms, meeting rooms, and/or public spaces as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and deep cleaning of all surfaces in guest rooms as required, including inspecting/flipping mattresses, box springs, vacuuming behind and underneath furniture, spot cleaning carpets and upholstery, touch-up painting, touch-up furniture, dusting, cleaning bathrooms, ensuring that all hardware and appliances are present in the room and in working order, cleaning and replacing light fixtures, and inspecting grout and caulking
  • Perform miscellaneous minor repairs such as tightening loose toilet seats, changing light bulbs, and patching holes in walls
  • Ensures that any nonfunctioning items are properly identified, repaired, and returned to service quickly or are disposed of properly
  • Report any serious maintenance problems, unusual findings, or safety hazards immediately to the manager/supervisor
  • Responds promptly to maintenance emergencies, and is able to anticipate guests’ needs
  • Adheres to all safety and security guidelines regarding equipment safety, guest safety and safe chemical handling procedures

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous building operations engineering experience preferred
  • HVAC Training preferred
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and make decisions
  • Ability to work any hours/ days during the week and weekends

JOB SETTING AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Employees in this position may work indoors or outdoors. To perform the job successfully, the candidate must be able to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping, assemble very small objects, make quick, precise adjustments to machine controls, and determine the distance between objects. The employee must be able to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time, as well as lift objects sometimes weighing 50 pounds or more. Fluency in the English language and the ability to speak, hear, read and write are required, as is the ability to work any hours/days of the week necessary to meet business requirements.
