Position Summary: Checks front office accounting records for accuracy and, on a daily basis, summarizes and compiles information for the hotel's financial records. Tracks room revenues, occupancy percentages, and other front office operating statistics. The night auditor prepares a summary of cash, check, and credit card activities that reflect the hotel's finances for the day—verifying all account postings and balances made during the day by front desk cashiers and agents. Night auditors may also function as front desk agents throughout their shift as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

1. Keep records of room availability & guests’ accounts, manually or using computer.

2. Compute bill, collect payment, & make change for guests.

3. Post applicable charges, such as room, food, liquor, or telephone, to ledger, manually or using computer.

4. Deposit guests’ valuables in hotel safe or safe-deposit box. 5. Greet, register, & assign rooms to guests as required.

6. Review Front Office Log & communicate with other shifts by completing the appropriate sections of the log.

7. Issue room key & offer guests assistance with luggage & room location as required.

8. Complete bucket check.

9. Make & confirm reservations.

10. Balance daily receipts using prescribed report formats & protocols.

11. Be knowledgeable about room rates, reservation & & cancellation procedures.

12. Perform all established bookkeeping procedures & complete daily report in prescribed format.

13. Inspect guest rooms for any necessary repairs. Perform minor maintenance. Write up work order to document needed repairs for Maintenance Department.

14. Any other appropriate duties that may be assigned by management or the corporate office.

Compensation: $19.00 per hour
