Courtyard By Marriott Boston Logan Airport is Hiring an Assistant Hotel Manager Near Boston, MA

Job Summary:

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) is responsible for assisting the General Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the entire hotel. The AGM ensures that all departments run smoothly and efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of guest service and satisfaction. This role involves managing staff, addressing guest concerns, and ensuring compliance with all hotel policies and procedures

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Management:
  • Assist in the management of day-to-day operations across all hotel departments including Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, and Maintenance.
  • Ensure that all operational standards and Marriott brand standards are consistently met.
  • Monitor and evaluate departmental performance to maintain high levels of productivity and guest satisfaction.
  • Read and respond to Marriott’s Branded guest satisfaction surveys in a timely manner
  • Strong lobby presence assisting guests with questions, whiling supporting the Front Office Team
  • Guest Experience:
  • Ensure exceptional guest service and satisfaction by addressing and resolving guest complaints and concerns promptly.
  • Implement strategies to enhance guest experience and loyalty.
  • Work with hotel team to implement strategies to improve Marriott membership enrollments
  • Staff Management:
  • Assist in recruiting, training, and supervising hotel staff.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to employees.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment through effective leadership and communication.
  • Work with department heads on staff schedules to ensure proper staffing levels are met
  • Compliance and Safety:
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations as well as Marriott’s corporate policies.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for guests and staff by adhering to safety standards and protocols.
  • Administrative Duties:
  • Prepare reports for the General Manager and corporate office as required.
  • Assist in the management of inventory and ordering of supplies.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in hotel management or a related field, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Skills:
  • Strong leadership and management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in hotel management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Knowledge of financial management and budgeting.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Working Conditions:

  • Fast-paced environment with high guest interaction.
  • Requires standing for extended periods and occasional lifting of heavy objects.
  • Ability to respond to emergencies and handle difficult situations.
  • Open availability required to work nights, weekends, and be an integral part of the hotels MOD program

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $75,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 40 per week
