Court and Aquatic Sports Ltd is Hiring a TENNIS INSTRUCTOR Near San Jose, CA

Overview

AVAC’s Tennis Instructors are responsible for teaching high quality individual and group lessons. Tennis Instructors support the Tennis Directors, the AVAC Tennis Department, and Team AVAC in providing high level customer service, exceptional program delivery, and participation in AVAC-wide programs, events, and goals. The Tennis Instructor position is part-time and reports to the Tennis Director of Operations.

  • Engages and demonstrates a high level of customer care/service withevery member and guest.We createrelationships with our members.
  • Assists in providing a clean and safe environment for our members andguests (including locker rooms, café, pool deck, parking lots, club entrances,etc.)
  • Is able to resolve controversy and stay objective and fair despitedisagreement.
  • Does not engage in inappropriate conversations while on the AVAC campus.
  • Maintains a professional attitude andbehavior in their interactions with members and guests, fellow employees andmanagement.

 Instructors….

  • Energizes others; develops and fosters team spirit. Sets a tone of professionalism. 
  • Fosters an ethical work environment and demonstrates integrity. 
  • Has extraordinary people skills including the ability to develop rapport with others. Addresses all members by their proper name.
  • Provides thehighest level of customer service when dealing with member concerns andcomplaints. Proactively works to resolve any issues that are brought to theirattention. Properly directs any concerns that they are unable to resolve.
  • Follows established guidelines fordocumentation and communication.
  • Appropriately, privately and professionallycommunicates to the Tennis Director any concerns that are beyond the scope oftheir responsibilities.
  • Graciously acknowledges constructive feedback from the Tennis Director andapplies themselves to improve the areas of concern.
  • Demonstrates a willingness to assist in various tasks as requested.
  • Upholds all club policies including dress code, customer servicestandards and telephone etiquette.
  • Maintains USPTA or USPTR certification.
  • Ensures notification of customers upon cancellation of class(es) due torain or other circumstances.
  • Ensures that courts are always ready to accommodate programs, including,but not limited to, making sure courts are clean of debris and stray balls,making sure water jugs are full.
  • Ensures that the facilities are safe, reporting any damaged items orsafety concerns to AVAC General Manager of Facilities, and follows throughuntil resolved.

Compensation

Qualified Tennis Pros earn 50% commission on private and group lessons brought in by the Pro. Assistant Coaches/Associate Pros earn $18-$45/hour depending on experience, certifications, abilities, and other qualifications.
