How Is This Role Important to Our Work?
This position will be responsible for ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) design and development for the enterprise data pipelines, data submissions and other data integration applications for CoupeHealth. This resource will support business areas, project teams, IT technical teams and vendors to deliver high quality data integration work and services focusing on new and enhanced development. In addition to core accountabilities, this position serves one or more roles including application development and application/project management. Develops integrated solutions to complex or highly complex problems with a broad technical and business context of significant impact.
A Day in the Life:
  • Work with business resources, IT cross-divisional technical resources and external customers to understand and document requirements, proposed data solutions/designs on small to medium sized projects.
  • Build data pipelines: Create, maintain, and optimize workloads from development to production for specific use cases.
  • Develop and Maintain ETL/ELT packages using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) that handle large, complex data sets from various sources.
  • Ensure data security using SQL Server Technologies.
  • Triage data issues, analyzing end to end data pipelines and in working with business users in troubleshooting/resolving data pipeline issues.
  • Collaborates with project managers, and information systems owners and cross division technical staff in project execution and schedules, status reporting, and issue/risk management alignment.
  • Support projects and run the business activities by delivering defined scope within the data integration architecture for new and existing assets.
  • Learns and adheres to data integration development standards and best practices for design, coding, migration, and scheduling as well as corporate and legal compliancy guidelines.
Nice to Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS or related field
  • Knowledge of managed care and health care claims and membership domains.
  • Experience with Agile Development, DevOps, IT Service Management, and other development and support processes and methodologies.
  • Development experience using AWS Cloud Services (S3, Glue, IAM, Redshift etc.), Git (Gitlab), CI/CD pipelines
  • Good understanding of data warehousing methodology, data design & data modeling (3 Normal Form and Star Schema)
  • Certifications related to Data modeling or data warehousing is a plus.
  • Tools Experience: Visual Studio, SSMS, SSIS, SSRS, Jira, Microsoft Teams, ServiceNow
Required Skills and Experiences:
  • 5 years of application development and integration, or related professional experience. All relevant experience including work, education, transferable skills, and military experience will be considered.
  • 5 years SSIS Development experience, working with Visual Studio Database Projects and handling unstructured data (XML, JSON etc.) formats.
  • Experience and understanding of Relational Database Management Systems (AWS RDS, MS SQL Server, Postgres, Oracle etc.). Preferred: Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience with Performance Tuning SQL Server Instances.
  • Experience working with customers across the enterprise to understand business questions and to develop reporting and analytical solutions in support of those questions.
  • Strong Understanding of BI/ETL development in the IT industry with recent development, system administration, application tuning and debugging experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server including developing and implementing complex stored procedures, functions, views, triggers, and T-SQL.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using data visualization tools (e.g., Microsoft Power BI)
  • Understanding of standards and best practices for data integration development practice and support.
  • Strong Ability to hit tight deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Proven analytic and problem-solving skills used to craft, evaluate, and interpret data sets using SQL.
  • Proven experience in teamwork skills with multiple teams (Data analysts, data modelers, testers, DBAs, project managers, business areas, etc.) for project execution and issue resolution.
  • Demonstrated ability to present technical information to non-technical audiences and leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team setting with individuals having diverse professional backgrounds including business, technical and /or clinical.
Role Designation:
Hybrid Remote
Role designation definition: Teleworking is working full time remote. Hybrid is a combination of working onsite and remotely. Onsite is full-time onsite.
