Excellent Career Opportunity - Air Pollution Control District (APCD)SUPERVISING AIR RESOURCES SPECIALIST Interviews will take place the week of July 15, 2024. Job offers for selected candidates will be made the week of July 22, 2024. The San Diego County Air Pollution Control District (SDAPCD) is currently accepting job applications for Supervising Air Resources Specialist, to establish a 6-month eligible list. This is an exciting opportunity to support and grow the Air District’s programs improving air quality in the region. This vacancy is in the Incentives Unit and would be responsible for the administration of financial incentives for projects that improve air quality, protect the public, and support local businesses’ transition to cleaner equipment.The selected candidate will report directly to the Chief and provide first-line supervision over Air Resource and Air Quality Specialists, support coordination activities, and communicate with stakeholders and the general public, for the Incentives team. Note: Current County employees may be excluded from additional background screening. Pre-employment Medical Screening: Approximately 3 days following successful background investigation results. Anticipated Start Date: Start date will be based upon successful completion of medical screening or other mutually agreed upon date. If you are not selected for this interview process, you may have the opportunity to compete for future vacancies. Minimum QualificationsA bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a certified foreign studies equivalency in engineering, physical science, mathematics, economics, environmental planning, environmental science, or a closely related field, AND, four (4) years of recent progressively responsible professional experience performing evaluations of air quality management and development plans, emission controls, transportation and indirect source controls. Previous experience at the supervisory level is highly desirable; OR,Two (2) years of experience as an Associate Air Resources Specialist, Air Quality Specialist in the San Diego County Air Pollution Control District.
