The purpose of the class is to perform skilled and semi-skilled work in the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems and equipment; to provide instruction and leadership of subordinate electricians in the absence of the Electrician Supervisor, and to perform related work as required. The class works within a general outline of work to be performed, and develops work methods and sequences under general supervision of the Electrician Supervisor.
Requires high school diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by formal training, special courses or self-education that is equivalent to satisfactory completion of one year of college education or specialized advanced training in electrical maintenance or a closely related field.
Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
Requires two (2) years of experience in electrical maintenance and repair. Must complete on the job training (OJT) in electrical maintenance and repair. Master Electrician certification preferred.
