County of Maui is Hiring a HOUSING SPECIALIST Near Wailuku, HI
Responsible for the case management of families on the Housing Choice Voucher Program (Section 8). Interviews applicants to determine family eligibility. Schedules and conducts meetings with applicant and participant families, advising them of their responsibilities under the Program and redeterminations made concerning their annual renewals and interim changes. Pursues and investigates potential fraud/program abuse cases. Completes rent computations and determines tenants’ share of rent and amount of subsidy for program participants based on established HUD guidelines. Attends meetings to explain the Program to prospective tenants and landlords.
