GOLF COURSE MAINTENANCE, SEASONAL LONG TERM The Kenosha County Division of Golf is accepting applications for long-term seasonal maintenance positions at Brighton Dale Links and Petrifying Springs. We are looking for hardworking individuals to assist in the maintenance of the entire golf facility. Candidates must work well within our team to help provide the best playing conditions for our guests. Other qualities we are looking for include a positive attitude, an eye for detail, and a willingness to learn new skills. Knowledge of golf beneficial but not required. Kenosha County is committed to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion and is anEqual Opportunity Employer. 2024 PAY RANGE: $15.00 - $22.00 per hour WORK SCHEDULELong-term seasonal employees generally work from March to NovemberStart dates will vary depending on weather and golf course conditionsThe work hours are typically Monday through Friday from 5:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M.Must be available to work alternating weekends and holidays DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESOperates power tools, string trimmers, push and riding mowersPerforms manual tasks including hand digging, raking bunkers, setting cups and tee markers, hand watering greens, and filling divotsPicks up and properly disposes of debris and trashRepairs, cleans, and performs preventative maintenance on mechanical equipmentPerforms other duties as required or assigned JOB REQUIREMENTS, EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or GED equivalentExperience in maintenance preferredMust possess a valid driver’s license at time of hire and maintain during incumbencyAcceptable driving recordMust be at least 18 years old at time of application SUCCESS FACTORSKnowledge of general maintenance work with the most efficient utilization of equipmentKnowledge of and/or ability to play the game of golf and understand how job performance affects the playing conditions of the golf courseKnowledge of safety precautions and procedures applicable to maintenance equipmentSkill in the use of equipment and repair toolsTeamworkSkill in basic usage of Microsoft OfficeAbility to communicate effectivelyAbility to follow written and/or verbal instructionsAbility to maintain positive interactions with co-workers and guestsAbility to operate various golf course maintenance equipment including, trucks, sweepers, rollers, mowers, and other mechanical and non-mechanical equipmentAbility to work independently to meet deadlinesAbility to work respectfully in a diverse and inclusive environment PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
