JOB
The purpose of this position is to assist in the oversight of the Crisis, Adult Protective Services (APS) and Behavioral Health units. Responsible for assisting with the program compliance with all State and Federal regulations and ensures meeting requirements for continued State certification. This position evaluates programs on a continual basis, making enhancements and adjustments as approved by the Clinic manager.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Possess considerable knowledge of Crisis; APS; human development; mental illness; substance use disorders; family, group, and community dynamics; and systems theory. Possess considerable knowledge of Crisis and Adult Protective Services program and knowledge regarding behavioral health clinic services. Have a strong ability to implement interpersonal and team building skills. Have a strong ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally. Train Crisis and APS staff on Crisis/APS program requirements. Familiarize self with Crisis/APS related statutes/rules (34, 51, 54, 55) and report these to Crisis/APS staff and manager. Track Crisis/APS and clinic referrals. Complete Crisis/APS related paperwork and forms, including maintaining Crisis/APS and clinic shared folders. Maintain strong collaboration with Juneau County courts and other stakeholders. Possess knowledge of community resources and various prevention techniques. Establish rapport with clients, external partners, and other Juneau County staff. Exercise good judgment, time management, and organizational skills. Coordinate services for consumers, including admission, transition and discharge to/from the Crisis/APS Program and Clinic. Provide consultation and collaboration with community agencies and other professionals. Provide educational and prevention services with consumers and community groups. Coordinate I-team meetings on a quarterly basis. Complete required record keeping according to state and agency requirements and ensure other Crisis/APS and behavioral health clinic staff do likewise. Participate in, coordinate, and conduct in-service and other trainings as assigned. In coordination with Crisis/APS and Clinic Manager, conduct needs assessments, program development, prioritization, and evaluation. Intervene in and prioritize crisis situations and complete mandated reporting. Create crisis and safety plans, including de-escalation, intervention and prevention steps to avoid unnecessary out of home placements and/or hospitalizations. Respond to emergency situations in the office and community, including rotation assignments for Crisis and APS as assigned. Track completion of treatment plans. Complete other duties as assigned.
