JOB
Performs semiskilled work maintaining parks, playing fields, equipment and facilities, performing general custodial, maintenance and groundskeeping duties, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the Park Maintenance Crew Leader.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Mows grass in parks and public properties; edges, trims and cleans public areas; applies pesticide as needed.Sets up ball fields including application of clay, edging, lining and grass cutting; ensures ball fields conform to specifications and are edged and kept in excellent playing condition.Performs preventive maintenance and makes minor repairs to equipment.Performs basic trades tasks such as general carpentry, plumbing, electrical, etc.Performs custodial duties such as mopping and cleaning.Sets up and takes down furniture and equipment for special events.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
High school diploma or equivalent or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.Valid North Carolina driver’s license.
