Floor Operator

Purpose of Job:

Operate and maintain the juice flow from blending area to Production with the highest degree of quality and efficiency. Ensures the safety, cleanliness, and orderliness of the Portion Pack area. Performs duties assigned by the Team Coordinator and Manufacturing Supervisor. Coordinate, train, evaluate and monitor crew to achieve production goals within quality standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain juice flow.
• Monitor several tanks of juice up to 70,000 gallons a day.
• Get Brix release of juice prior to the need to use tank and log findings in logbook QA.
• Keep tanks cleaned according to sanitation standards.
• Keep area supplied with production materials needed.
• Identify and correct problems in Portion Pack Area.
• Provide Breaks to operators in Portion Pack.
• Deduct from schedule what has been run on the shift.
• Make certain you are clear on what has been run and what is left.
• Perform inspections, start of shift and changeovers.
• Perform minor repairs on Gasti machines.
• Perform sampling and obtain release from QA Department.
• Perform tank cleaning, visual inspection of tanks being cleaned and coordinate inspection with QA Department.
• Examine supply levels of "necessary items" to ensure a continuous juice run.
• Complete paperwork tank usage, magnet inspection sheets, sanitation checklist and all other daily paperwork.
• Communicate with previous and following shifts regarding equipment operation & production status.
• Operate timecard system correctly.
• Correctly submit all job paperwork & records.
• Constantly monitor Portion Pack product.
• Maintain and manage accurate case counts.

Education and/or Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must have at least 2years Machine Operating Experience

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Must posse (or attain within seven (7) working days of initial hire or placement in this position) and maintain a current and valid forklift and pallet jack operator's license.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, however the employee may be required to enter production areas where the noise level is usually loud and hearing protection is required.
