Registered Nurse Supervisor Responsibilities:

• In conjunction with the DON, supervises all RNs, LPNs and C.N.A.’s responsibilities, monitors the accuracy and completeness of their work.

• Promotes and restores patients’ health by developing day-to-day management and long-term planning of the patient care area.
• Participates in hiring, onboarding, directs, mentors and develops staff, including communicating job expectations and providing performance reviews.
• Collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary professional staff to implement patient care and meet patient needs.
• Meets nursing operational standards by contributing information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; and identifying system improvements.
• Assures quality of care by monitoring standards of care and measuring health outcomes against standards, and making or recommending adjustments.
• Completes patient care requirements by scheduling and assigning nursing and staff and following up on work results. Render hands on care as needed.

Registered Nurse Supervisor Requirements:

• A graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current license as an RN issued by the Commonwealth of PA or MD.

• Prior nursing experience in a long term care facility or in acute care facility.
• Critical thinking skills.
• Ability to manage, supervise, lead, direct, plan, coordinate, staff, develop and make decisions independently.
• Ability to perform the physical tasks required in this type of role.
