Country Inn & Suites Hotel & Conference Center Mankato is Hiring a Banquet Set-up PT Mankato Near Mankato, MN

The Country Inn & Suites and Conference Center Mankato, MN is looking to hire interested individuals to join our team working as a Banquet Set-up employees. The hours for this will be day, evening, and some late night (11pm-2am). We also have some seasonal opportunities. We offer a flexible schedule days, evenings, some weekends and holidays.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Banquet Setup Associate’s primary responsibility is to uphold the restaurant’s high standards of excellence by providing the highest quality of service to guests. The Banquet Setup Associate is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of all banquet rooms, hallways, and storage and service areas. This position requires setting up the banquet rooms per the specifications of the BEOs and then resetting the banquet rooms to the original state after the event has concluded.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

1. Must have the ability to provide professional and courteous guest service.

2. Must have good time management skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

3. Must have good organizational skills, the ability to multitask and work in a fast paced environment.

4. Must have the ability to understand and follow verbal/written instructions and communicate both verbally and in writing.

5. Must have the ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude during all interactions.

6. Must have the ability to work a variety of shifts in order to meet business need.

7. Previous banquet or event experience preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Assists all guests in a professional and courteous manner.

2. Performs job duties and responsibilities in a cost effective manner and within budgetary guidelines.

3. Maintains the cleanliness and organization of all banquet rooms, hallways, and storage and service areas.

4. Routinely inventories and cares for banquet supplies such as linens, chairs, china, glassware, flatware and decorations.

5. Sets up the banquet rooms per the specification of the BEOs, and then resets the rooms to the original state after the event has concluded.

6. Assists during events, including duties such as assisting servers, transporting tables and equipment, reporting maintenance issues to management and assisting guests as necessary.

7. May be required to assist with the setup of audio-visual equipment or assisting with the transport of food, beverages, decorations and equipment to an off-premise event location.

8. Thoroughly communicates with management and banquet associates through daily communication and attends required meetings.

9. Understands and applies all facility safety and security procedures as required to maintain a safe and secure environment for associates and guests.

10. Keeps supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance coming to his/her attention so prompt corrective action can be taken.

11. Performs all other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS ANALYSIS:

Summary The Banquet Setup Associate works primarily indoors in a temperature controlled environment. This position requires continuous standing and walking, and frequent lifting, carrying, bending and reaching throughout entire shift. Hazards may include, but are not limited to, slipping and tripping, working with sharp objects (knives), exposure to computer terminals, standard cleaning chemicals and hot surfaces/appliances. All Food & Beverage department associates are required to wear rubber soled, nonslip footwear and must follow proper safety precautions at all times to avoid injuries.
