Country Day Montessori is seeking highly qualified applicants for a Montessori Lower Elementary Assistant position for the 2024/2025 school year.
Located in the North-Eastern quadrant of San Antonio, the school has served children from New Braunfels to South San Antonio for over thirty years. Our spacious four-acre campus has plenty of room for children and teachers to stretch their legs, breathe in deep, and enjoy nature. Elementary classes are held in a modern, four-classroom building filled with Montessori manipulatives and curriculum to serve our students. The perfect candidate will have several years experience assisting in a Montessori classroom.

Responsibilities
- Assist the lead Montessori teacher in implementing Montessori curriculum and educational activities.
- Support classroom management by supervising students and maintaining a positive learning environment.
- Utilize effective communication skills to interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Help with lesson planning and implementation, incorporating literacy and math education.
- Provide childcare and support for children's developmental needs.
- Implement behavior management strategies to support student growth and development.
- Support curriculum development and adapt activities to meet the needs of individual students.
- Utilize classroom experience to engage students in hands-on learning experiences.
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Previous classroom experience, particularly in a Montessori setting, is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with Montessori teaching methods and principles.
- Experience working with children and managing a classroom environment.
- Knowledge or experience in curriculum development is a plus.
- Background in early childhood education or childhood development is beneficial.
