Description

The newly opened Aloft Hotel on the Country Club Plaza and Cascade Hotel in Kansas City, a Tribute Portfolio hotel, are destined to become the crown jewels of the Country Club Plaza hotel scene. Situated on the North side of the Plaza, these hotels pay tribute to the history of Kansas City, while leaving a distinct mark of their own. With a combined 300 guest rooms, 5 bars, a two-story restaurant, and 15,000 sq feet of meeting space, these hotels will be the preferred destination for smaller conferences, meetings, vacations, celebrations, and everyone else that comes to Kansas City.

The Loading Dock Agent reports directly to the General Manager and is responsible for the following:

• Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
• Inspects loading operations.
• Directs movement of shipment from shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areas.
• Check for damaged cargo, materials, and supplies
• Maintain a clean dock area free from debris
• Package distribution
• Break down pallets
• Record shipment data, shipping charges, space availability, and damages and discrepancies
• Pack and prepare materials for shipping
• Assist with loading and unloading
• Coordination deliveries to confirm accuracy of package arrivals
• Inspection and organization of received packages
• Maintains shipping and receiving logs
• Performs other shipping/receiving duties as requested
• Inspect freight upon arrival
• Follow all safety rules

Special Requirements

• Prompt and regular attendance - the hotel operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day
• Department schedules must accommodate fluctuating business demands and associates may be asked to work shifts other than those they prefer or normally work, and overtime as required
• Minimum availability of 16 hours per week for part-time employees
• Comply with hotel and/or department uniform and professional behavior and appearance standards
• Carry out all reasonable requests by team leaders and managers and act as a team player with all levels of staff
• Review and approve electronic timecard weekly for accuracy

May be exposed to cleaning chemicals.
