Council On Foreign Relations is Hiring an Internship, International Economics and Technology, Summer 2024 Near New York, NY

Overview

CFR’s internships give selected interns the opportunity to receive training in the area of foreign policy; as well as skills training in areas such as writing, research, and program planning.

The Council has a internship available in the Studies Department. The intern will work with a team in the studies department and will assist the fellow with research, writing, and editing. The intern will gain firsthand experience with the tools scholars use to analyze economic policy questions.

CFR internships are paid, require a 14- 18 hour commitment, and are filled on a rolling basis.

Please note that all internships are offered on a hybrid (half in the office, half remote) or fully remote basis. All internships are paid positions (no exceptions can be made on this). As such, all interns must have the legal right to work in the United States and be based in the United States for the duration of the internship.

The major responsibilities of this position will include (but are not limited to):

  • Assist with fellow's next book project
  • Contributing to op-eds and presentations
  • Compile and analyzing qualitative research through major news publications or academic journals
  • Attending general Council meetings and other programs on foreign policy issues, as time permits

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate or graduate student with background in economics, computer science, political science, mathematics, or related field
  • Demonstrated interest in Artificial Intelligence preferred
  • Students should have completed the equivalent of four semesters of college coursework (not including AP classes in high school) by the time they begin an internship
  • Experience in research, writing, and editing
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills; citation management experience a plus

Pay Rate

$17.00 per hour
