Opportunity to work for well-established county-wide non-profit organization in collaboration with the school district.
· Master’s degree in helping profession (Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, etc.)
· Minimum one year experience in the field of alcohol/drug counseling and/or therapy
· Specific knowledge of individual counseling principles and techniques, substance abuse assessment and case planning, and therapeutic interventions for substance abuse
· Knowledge of resources for treatment, recovery, and rehabilitation in South Santa Barbara County
· Ability to communicate verbally with clients from a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds
· Familiarity with SB County Behavioral Wellness documentation preferred
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Provide services as a License Practitioner of the Healing Arts (LPHA) per title 22 .to assess and establish medical necessity, determine appropriate groups/interventions, and create treatment plan for all clients assigned
· Conduct group counseling, individual therapy, and family therapy to assigned clients
· Communicate regularly with support persons (parents, probation, family) in support of client’s treatment plan as allowed
· Follow Title 22 Guidelines & SB County Behavioral Wellness policies for client care and documentation
· Complete documentation accurately, professionally, and within prescribed time frame
· Maintain fidelity to approved curriculum/approach as assigned - Complete required Behavioral Wellness trainings annually
· Maintain client files and case notes properly documenting client's progress and attendance
· Keep abreast of the current literature and research in the field of alcoholism, and drug addiction/abuse
· Provide supervisor with requested documentation and statistical reporting information
· Assist with programmatic development of medicated
· Assist treatment programs and develop protocols to meet the Drug Medi-Cal requirements of all clients to have medical exams within 30 days of entering treatment
· Attend weekly staff meetings and casings
· Coordinate with program staff and others within the agency in a collaboration to ensure client-centered care
· Uphold a professional image of CADA at all times
· Perform additional related duties as assigned by the Program Director. Provide counseling services via telehealth methods (if applicable)
· Assess the family system, family dynamics and needs of the family for support services and assist with linking them to appropriate resources
· Attend school team meetings as they relate to the high-risk children/families on caseload (and at request/determination of principal)
· Conduct classroom presentations as requested and as possible
· Communicate regularly with supervisor including submitting reports as requested and checking and responding to email
· Attend the requisite numbers of units of supervision as required by the Board of Behavioral Sciences and as set forth by CADA
· Maintain an active caseload equal to or greater than ½ of the number of hours regularly scheduled to work in a work week
· Communicate regularly and work collaboratively with the school-based support team (including school principal, school psychologist, teacher, family advocate, and outreach)
· Provide training, classroom observation and consultation to teachers, principals, and other school personnel to increase understanding and identification of mental health issues
· Maintain case records, statistical reports and complete data entry for all program related activities and services; complete/submit documentation in a timely manner
· Attend weekly, one-hour meetings and trainings at request of your mentor
This is a part-time position (20-29hrs/wk)
Salary Range: $25.00-$30.00 dependent on qualifications and experience.
Rate increase for Bilingual (Spanish/English) with relevant training/experience
