Women In Government is a DC-based membership organization with the mission to convene state legislators and stakeholder experts with broad perspectives and experiences to amplify the work of female lawmakers. This position is based in DC and requires a successful applicant to work in a DC-based office 3 days per week.

JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Corporate Relations is responsible for the organization's strategic relationships. Working with the Executive Director, the Director is responsible for overseeing fundraising efforts for the organization and serves as the staff liaison for the Business Council and Associate Members. The Director must weave sponsor interests with WIG policy priorities with the goal of securing funding and building a donor base while providing stewardship of existing sponsors and supporting the mission and strategic goals of Women In Government. The Director also helps develop partnerships with outside organizations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the staff liaison for the Business Council and Associate Members, scheduling quarterly meetings, sending calendar invitations and developing agendas in coordination with Business Council Chair
  • Track utilization of Business Council and Associate Member benefits, including programming, conference attendance, and participation in Board/Business Council dinners at in-person conferences
  • Oversee quality of sponsored programming, ensuring that the title and content of all virtual and in-person events is relevant and timely for state legislators
  • Ensures that content sponsors adhere to Women In Government guidelines for structure and format of all webinars, podcasts, Public Service Announcements and in-person conference sessions
  • Reviews all slides and resources developed by content sponsors to ensure content is appropriate and contains actionable information for legislators
  • Along with Manager of Communications and Outreach, reviews signage and meeting book proofs for conferences to ensure accuracy of sponsor logos, session titles and speakers
  • Manage corporate outreach activities, including direct solicitation and proposal writing
  • Manage relationship with outside media partner to ensure projects are executed on time, on budget and to the satisfaction of both Women In Government and the project sponsor
  • Manage relationship with State Exchange on Employment and Disability
  • Help Business Operations Specialist invoice for sponsorships, pursue accounts receivable, correctly code/allocate funds, and prepare documentation necessary for auditing
  • Produce and distribute sponsor recruitment materials, including print and online flyers for membership and sponsorship
  • Manage and conduct new funder prospecting, including research and analysis of fit with Women In Government's policy priorities, setting up introductory meetings with Executive Director, and funders of interest, and proposal/grant writing
  • Meet with prospective funders as determined by the Executive Director
  • Represent WIG at other external meetings and events

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent written, verbal and digital communication skills;
  • Proficiency with office equipment and technology;
  • Knowledge of and/or willingness to learn fundraising software and services;
  • Logical thought processes and problem solving skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to work and collaborate well with others.
  • Ability to interact effectively with diverse people in different contexts and foster equity and inclusion through self-awareness, cultural sensitivity, and valuing others.
  • Dedication to public service with an unfailing commitment to act with civility, be nonpartisan in performing CSG duties, and be a responsible steward of member and donor funds.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience and education
  • 6-8 years of experience with an emphasis on outreach and development
  • Experience in/with non-profit sector preferred

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

CSG and WIG believes that pay equity and pay transparency advance workplace fairness. Compensation will be equitable and based on experience. The salary range for this position, based in Washington, DC is $85,000 to 92,500. This salary range is subject to change based on work location and market conditions.
