Director of Analytics and Insights

Reports To: VP of Administration

Classification: Full Time – Non-Exempt

Job Summary:
The Director of Analytics and Insights is a strategic leader responsible for driving data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role involves overseeing the operations within Virtuous, managing donor information, optimizing processes, and creating effective communication strategies. The ideal candidate is passionate about data, committed to continuous learning, and excited about transforming existing systems.

Primary Objective:

Increase awareness, visibility, and revenue of the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Data Stewardship:

• Serve as the “keeper of the data” by ensuring accurate and secure management of donor information, prospect research, and other relevant data.
• Collaborate with IT and other departments to maintain data integrity and compliance with privacy regulations.

Team Leadership:

• Oversee the gift entry processes.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning, growth, and collaboration within the advancement team.

Mailing List Optimization:

• Pull mailing lists for fundraising campaigns, events, and communications.
• Customize lists based on segmentation and donor preferences to maximize engagement.

Communication Calendar:

• Develop and maintain a communication calendar, ensuring timely and relevant interactions with donors.
• Coordinate communication efforts across various channels (email, direct mail, social media, etc.).

Donor Personas and Workflows:

• Create detailed donor personas based on data insights.
• Develop personalized communication workflows for different donor segments to enhance engagement and stewardship.

Senior Leadership Team Participation:

• Actively contribute to the Senior Leadership Team, providing insights and recommendations related to data analytics and strategic planning.
• Collaborate with other leaders to align data initiatives with organizational goals.

Data Analyst

• Salesforce Administrator - Oversee, monitor, and create necessary objects and reports to accurately access data.
• Responsible for the data architecture in tracking software (donor, guest, and volunteers).
• Supports data integration of District software ensuring efficient use of resources.
• Troubleshoots reporting systems, system applications and the supporting software identifying and correcting malfunctions and other operational problems.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Analytics, Data Science, Marketing, or related discipline).

• Proven experience in data analytics, CRM management, and process optimization.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to translate data insights into actionable strategies.
• Passion for continuous learning and staying up-to-date with industry trends.
• Alignment with the organization’s values and mission.
