This is just a glimpse of what it would be like to share your talent, expertise and passion for special education with the Cotting School community!Cotting School is hiring Special Education Teachers for our 2024-2025 School Year!The teacher will provide comprehensive classroom instruction; develop educational goals and objectives that accurately reflect realistic learning style and needs of each child, and maintain an environment in which learning is on ongoing and positive experience. The teacher will work closely with other direct care providers and direct classroom assistants as necessary.Masters degree is preferred, Bachelors degree will be considered. Experience with physical and communication disabilities preferred. Certification in SPED is a plus.Primary Duties:1. Instruct groups of students in assigned areas.2. Provide for a classroom and/or lab environment in which learning is an ongoing and positive experience.3.Maintain an individualized approach to each child's education.4. Develop educational goals and objectives which reflect accurately and realistic learning style and needs of each child assigned to a class. Implement prescribed curriculum.5. Maintain a professional level of knowledge and skill with regard to subject matter, teaching methods and the physical, emotional and educational needs of children assigned.6.Serve as positive role model for all students in terms of manner, appearance, attitude and knowledge.7.Maintain effective discipline within and without the classroom.8.Attend staff meetings, case reviews, etc., as needed.The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
