Title: Associate Registrar for Data Management

FLSA Status: Exempt – Full time, 12-month position
Reports to: Registrar
Job Summary: The Associate Registrar for Data Management is responsible for the management of information for qualitative and quantitative data across the institution to support operational and immediate priorities of the college. This position regularly collects and protects data for regulatory reporting requirements of several governing bodies. Reporting to the Registrar, they will assist in the leadership and administration of the Office of Academic Records, including academic standing reporting and data compilation and analyses related to regular and ad hoc projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Prepare reports for submission to external agencies and constituents, including but not limited to the National Center for Education Statistics (IPEDS), Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development, Higher Learning Commission, National Student Clearinghouse, U.S. News & World Report, and College Board.
· Closely communicates with staff across offices to direct data collection and submission to the above bodies.
· Support information needs of students, faculty, administration, and other constituents subject to limitations of data availability and privacy.
· Generate and provide ad hoc reports for institutional goals and strategic planning, as requested.
· Generate, clean, and transform data for analysis.
· Coordinate with IT and other relevant personnel to administer the course evaluation process.
· Monitor academic standing, coordinate probation, dismissal, President’s and Dean’s Lists.
· Ensure compliance with Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act and all other applicable laws and regulations.
· Support the operations of the Office of Academic Records, including registration processes and referring students and other constituents to appropriate resources.
· Serve on institutional committees as appointed.
· Perform other duties as assigned by the registrar.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Skills in using student information systems for student record keeping (Jenzabar preferred).
· Ability to gather and interpret data.
· Ability to provide data in easy-to-understand formats, with close attention to detail, to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the information communicated.
· Excellent time management skills.
· Skills in utilizing software and programming languages used in statistics and data analysis/visualization, preferably SQL.
· Ability to communicate effectively in a professional, tactful and courteous manner with students, employees, faculty, and other constituents.
· Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.
· Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
· Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
· Ability to multitask in busy work environments.
· Knowledge of the rules, regulations, and laws regarding student records.
Credentials and Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in statistics, education, social science, computer science, or research-related field from an institution accredited by a historically regional or national accreditor recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
· Two years of significant and relevant higher education reporting experience.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office products, especially Word and Excel.
· Experience with student information system software, Jenzabar preferred.
