COTTERMAN COMPANY is Hiring a 2nd Shift Parts Lead Near Mechanicsburg, PA

The Cotterman Company is the largest manufacturer of rolling metal and fixed metal ladders in North America. We are looking for a motivated 2nd Shift Parts Lead to coordinate the parts department in meeting production goals and quality standards. . Cotterman Company has one opening on the 2nd shift as well as a competitive benefits package for full-time hires after a waiting period .

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the shift in meeting production goals and quality standards.
  • Be self-managed by working in areas that are critical to meet production goals.
  • When required, operator machinery and equipment for the creation of parts.
  • Direct workforce in primary duties and re-direct as required.
  • Participate in training of employees and ensure employees understand and follow safe work and quality requirements.
  • Help plan, execute, and evaluate shift production.
  • Provide mutual support to other supervisors.
  • Communicate with Plant Manager, other shifts and other department leads daily.
  • Lead in continuous improvement, safety, and ergonomic programs.
  • Administer discipline in accordance with the employee handbook.
  • Undergo training in leadership and technical applications when required.
  • Perform all duties consistent with the Cotterman employee handbook.
  • Maintain knowledge of company policies as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Other duties as assigned by Plant Manager.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma (or equivalent) required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work productively and train employees on all Welding and Robotic Welding manufacturing operations.
  • Ability to pass Company Weld Test.
  • Ability to measure materials, read blueprints, use micrometer, and understand work instructions.
  • Ability to effectively read and write to maintain accurate documentation.
  • Licensed or ability to become licensed forklift truck operator.
  • Ability to routinely and safely lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Reliable with excellent attendance record.
  • Must be able to wear a negative seal - face respirator to train operators and as necessary perform wash rack and powder coating duties. Must be able to complete required applicable respiratory protection protocols (medical evaluation and fit testing).
