Cosand Construction offers a wide variety of services in both residential and commercial settings, and has performed work in new construction homes, remodels, as well as work in healthcare facilities, schools, and casinos.

Job DescriptionSuperintendent

Primary Responsibility is to oversee and coordinate the field activities of a project from beginning to the project closeout.

Expectations/Responsibilities:

Safety

  • Safely work in all conditions, including:
    • Wearing the proper PPE
    • Analyze situations and create proper and safe fall protection systems
    • Using ladders, scaffolding, vehicles, equipment, and lifts in a safe manner
  • OSHA 10 hour training or higher
  • Understand and be able to implement action plans in the case of major injury, natural disaster, or catastrophic event
  • Report any damage or unsafe practices that occur on the jobsite
  • Daily safety checks of the jobsite

Project Site

  • Maintain a clean jobsite, including sweeping, dusting, moping, taking out trash, etc.
  • Provide adequate storage for subcontractors and employees to store materials where they will not get damaged, or coordinate deliveries to minimize material stored on site.
  • Quality check subcontractor work and hold subcontractors accountable for their work
  • Update and maintain vendor and customer database
  • Assist in taking and archiving project photos

Administration

  • Maintain and manage Tool Watch software for shop tools
  • Assist other team members with checking tools in and out
  • Accurately complete timecards and review other employees timecards weekly
  • Complete daily logs of work completed, problems that occurred, injuries, deliveries and important decisions
  • Give fair and honest assessment of any Cosand employee working on their jobsite
  • Track progress of work being completed on jobsite
  • Track and initiate all permits needed to keep progress on schedule
  • Set weekly schedules and hold subcontractor meetings as needed
  • Look ahead and deal with issues before they slow productions (Plan discrepancies, long lead times, etc.
  • Quality check subcontractor work and create punchlist items to meet Cosand/Client standards

The candidate must be able to work independently with minimal direction and oversight, but also collaborate effectively. The candidate must develop a broad understanding of the business, comprehend established best practices, and be dedicated to meeting the high level of customer service expected of all members of Cosand Construction. Adaptability to constantly shifting priorities and comfortability with change is required to execute a multitude of transactions. Creativity and ingenuity are desired for continuous enhancements and improvements in the role.

Training:

  • All Cosand employees will be trained to their level of employment and safety requirements, this will include on the job training as well as classroom training when it applies. Cosand Construction will provide all safety equipment and PPE that is needed for the task at hand.
