Corvian Community School is Hiring an Elementary School Behavior Support Near Charlotte, NC
Title: Elementary School Behavior Support (10 months)
Daily Responsibilities
Be out front for morning/afternoon car line.
Work with teachers and administration to assess and improve student behavior.
Consistently enforce the policies in the handbook.
Regularly visit classrooms to connect with both staff and students. Students should feel like the behavior specialist is always present in the hallways and classroom.
Behavior Management
Complete incident reports through Educator's Handbook for all office referrals.
Escalate decisions about discipline to the Associate Director and Director as appropriate. Handle all parent notifications for suspensions.
Take the lead with behavior calls and when students are brought to the front office.
Handling and investigating all class 1 and class 2 behaviors. Handle class 3 behaviors in collaboration with the Director and Associate Director.
Communicate behavior decisions with parents and teachers. ISS/ 1 day OSS should be communicated by phone. Generally, all other office referrals should be communicated by email. Copy Director and Associate Director on all parent emails.
Track behaviors for consequence decisions and the need for MTSS behavior interventions. Partnering with School Social Worker to set up and monitor interventions.
ISS coverage when needed.
Detention coverage when needed.
Assist with accountability for student expectations.
Help as needed with re-entry meetings with students after OSS.
TA Coordinator and Carpool
Communicate with TAs in weekly email.
Plan for and attend What Up Wednesday TA meetings.
Partner with 3 to 4 long term TAs to observe TAs twice a year and set up this observation schedule with TAs.
Visit classrooms and help TAs with any needs. Model the Corvian Way.
Meet with leads and TAs to help to talk through any needs that arise as the year progresses.
Monitor carpool in AM and PM and help troubleshoot any problems or hear ideas/concerns.
Manage carpool coverage.
504 Coordinator
Participate in 504 meetings with the intention of taking over management of that process for ES.
Observe students with a 504 in process.
Communicate with parents throughout the process to set up meetings and consents.
Communicate with teachers and staff for implementation.
Beginning Teacher Support
Plan and facilitate quarterly meetings with beginning teachers and mentors.
Track progress with beginning teacher requirements.
