Job Description Job Description The Nurse Case Manager provides medical management and return to work assistance to individuals following a work place injury. The NCM collaborates with the injured worker, insurer, employer, attorney, and treating providers to oversee the medical treatment plan and to coordinate a return to gainful employment. The NCM determines eligibility for vocational rehabilitation or disability case management services, provides medical management assistance and identifies suitable job goals consistent with the clients interests, aptitudes and physical abilities.Candidates in Southern MN encouraged to apply.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:Schedule and attend in-person appointments with client, family, adjuster, medical providers, employer, attorney or vendors as necessary. Valid Drivers License and auto insurance requiredComplete forms according to industry requirementsPrepare organized reports within a specified timeframeDocument all case activity in files and update all parties on statusComplete ongoing educational requirements as required by certifying entitiesAdditional duties as requiredKNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:Effective multi-tasking skills in a high-volume, fast-paced, team-oriented environment.Ability to interface with claims staff, attorneys, physicians and their representatives, and advisors/clients and coworkersCritical thinking skills, problem solving capabilities and strong attention to detailExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to meet designated deadlinesComputer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize MS Office including Excel spreadsheetsStrong interpersonal, time management and organizational skillsAbility to work both independently and within a team environmentEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:4 year degree, licensed RN or a combination of education & related experienceAbility to obtain CRC or CDMSKnowledge of Workers Compensation and prior case management experience preferredBilingual in Spanish or other language a plusPAY RANGE:CorVel uses a market based approach to pay and our salary ranges may vary depending on your location. Pay rates are established taking into account the following factors: federal, state, and local minimum wage requirements, the geographic location differential, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal employee equity, and market conditions. Our ranges may be modified at any time.For leveled roles (I, II, III, Senior, Lead, etc.) new hires may be slotted into a different level, either up or down, based on assessment during interview process taking into consideration experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.
