CorVel Corporation is Hiring a Vocational Rehab Coordinator Near Cincinnati, OH

Vocational Rehabilitation Coordinator places emphasis on restoring or maximizing the injured worker’s abilities and minimizing long debilitating absences from work. The Vocational Rehabilitation Coordinator facilitates a professional analysis of the injured workers’ potential integrating information about physical capabilities, aptitudes, interests, motivation, transferable skills and environmental considerations. Coordinates vocational rehabilitation services to physically disabled injured workers with the referral source, physician, employer, attorney, and others with the goal of return to work.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures field case manager obtains history of past education, employment, hobbies, and job skills and uncovers vocational interests and future goals of the injured worker.
  • Ensures field case manager oversees psycho-vocational testing, work evaluations, schooling, transportation, on-the-job situations, and anything else needed to assist the injured worker in becoming or remaining gainfully employed.
  • Ensures field case manager assists the injured worker in using the recuperative period in a constructive fashion (studying, upgrading skills, preparing for job interviews, etc.)
  • Monitors field vocational rehabilitation case managers or coordinators and ensures compliance with the MCO Policy Reference Guide Chapter 4.
  • Assures vocational rehabilitation case manager is BWC certified and is the appropriately enrolled as provider.
  • Documents and follows up on all referrals of injured workers for vocational rehabilitation.
  • Determines injured worker’s initial eligibility for vocational rehabilitation services and notify BWC immediately via e-mailed vocational screening tool so that the BWC can verify eligibility and send due process letters.
  • Staff concerns about the injured worker’s feasibility for rehabilitation with the DMC from referral through case closure. Feasibility is defined as the reasonable probability that the injured worker will benefit from services at this time and return to work as result of the services.
  • Assist in educating internal staff, vocational rehabilitation case managers and employers about vocational rehabilitation.
  • Submit appeals and documentation regarding vocational rehabilitation eligibility, Medical Hold eligibility, LMWL eligibility and Rehab Recommendations to the BWC Rehabilitation Appeals Unit.
  • Works to resolve issues that may cross over into medical case management with the assigned case management person.
  • Assists in providing ongoing medical or claim-related information to rehab case manager; assure that rehab case management and job placement documentation submitted provides an adequate picture of the ongoing process and is submitted promptly.
  • Staff cases with BWC DMC.
  • Monitors bills of field vocational rehabilitation case managers and all other service providers for appropriateness and timeliness.
  • Required to read extensively.
  • Required to prepare organized reports within a specified timeframe.
  • Required to use telephone extensively.
  • Minimum Quality Assurance score is 95%
  • Requires regular and consistent attendance.
  • Comply with all safety rules and regulations during work hours with the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP).
  • Additional duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Good organization, time management skills, and ability to multitask
  • Detail Oriented
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

PAY RANGE:

CorVel uses a market based approach to pay and our salary ranges may vary depending on your location. Pay rates are established taking into account the following factors: federal, state, and local minimum wage requirements, the geographic location differential, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal employee equity, and market conditions. Our ranges may be modified at any time.

For leveled roles (I, II, III, Senior, Lead, etc.) new hires may be slotted into a different level, either up or down, based on assessment during interview process taking into consideration experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role. The level may impact the salary range and these adjustments would be clarified during the offer process.

Pay Range: $15.98 - $25.69 per hour
