CorVel Corporation is Hiring a Remote Compliance Director

As the Compliance Director, you will be responsible for managing workers’ compensation regulatory risk by ensuring business operations are performing in compliance with federal, state, and local laws. This role will be seen as the subject matter expert on regulatory compliance across our managed care and claims organization. The Compliance Director will be responsible for the design, strategy, and management of an industry leading compliance program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ascertain operations compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation.
  • Provides compliance support by implementing systems, procedures, and policies in conjunction with Product Managers and Operational leadership.
  • Enforces adherence to regulatory requirements and advises management on needed actions.
  • Independently analyzes and researches areas of non-compliance and act on matters by designing corrective action plans.
  • Develop content for whitepapers, blogs, and website content., as well as speak at state and national conferences.
  • Coordinate resources to ensure the ongoing effectiveness of the compliance program.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, attending regulatory meetings and conferences, and reading/researching publications.
  • Assists operations by answering questions and responding to requests.
  • Additional projects and duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • In-depth understanding of state and federal laws governing workers’ compensation, including knowledge of regulatory agencies and requirements.
  • Expert knowledge of legal requirements and controls.
  • Familiarity with workers’ compensation industry practices and professional standards including but not limited to claims, utilization review, case management, medical bill review, pharmacy benefit management, ancillary care, PPO, and state-specific networks.
  • Experience in conducting internal audits, monitoring compliance activities, and developing and ensuring correction actions are taken.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Displays integrity and professional ethics.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Proficiency in researching, analyzing and summarizing data related to identify trends and areas of opportunity.
  • Skills in preparing reports, maintaining records, and documenting compliance efforts.
  • Travel required to attend education seminars, meet with state regulators and operations.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum five years experience in compliance management required.
  • Experience in workers’ compensation or risk management preferred.
  • Preferred certifications include Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional Certification (CCEP) or Certified Healthcare Compliance (CHC).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel required.

PAY RANGE:

CorVel uses a market based approach to pay and our salary ranges may vary depending on your location. Pay rates are established taking into account the following factors: federal, state, and local minimum wage requirements, the geographic location differential, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal employee equity, and market conditions. Our ranges may be modified at any time.

For leveled roles (I, II, III, Senior, Lead, etc.) new hires may be slotted into a different level, either up or down, based on assessment during interview process taking into consideration experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role. The level may impact the salary range and these adjustments would be clarified during the offer process.

Pay Range: $96,522 – $150,441
