Cortland is Hiring an Enterprise Cloud Security Architect Near Atlanta, GA

As a Cloud Security Architect, you are responsible for the design and implementation of robust security measures for Cortland's production and DevOps cloud environments. This role involves a combination of staying abreast of the latest security trends, implementing best practices, defining and maintaining standards, collaborating with various teams, and ensuring a proactive approach to security incidents and threats. This multifaceted approach is crucial for establishing and maintaining a robust security posture for Cortland's cloud environments.

The Innovator

  • Implement and monitor the adoption of best-in-class cloud security practices within the organization.
  • Define and maintain security standards aligned with NIST, CIS, and any other relevant compliance frameworks.
  • Ensure that systems and practices adhere to the defined standards to minimize business and technical risks.
  • Engage in system design, engineering, and maintenance to provide technical security guidance across infrastructure programs and initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain security context in reference architecture and prototypes.
  • Identify and mitigate security issues, misconfigurations, and vulnerabilities related to both cloud and corporate infrastructure and applications.
  • Partner with security engineering, observability, and vulnerability management to define logging, alerting, patching, backup, and recovery capabilities and detect, prioritize, remediate issues and threats across infrastructure assets.
  • Participate in threat modeling, security incident response, lead incidents, and perform post-incident reviews with engineering teams.
  • Perform post-incident reviews and participate in tabletop and security preparedness exercises.
  • Build positive relationships with peers across the company to promote a strong security culture.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture and Security teams to recommend and guide investments for achieving the best-in-class security posture.

The Researcher

  • Design and implement cloud security strategies and policies tailored to Cortland's specific needs.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities in cloud-based data and applications.
  • Develop action plans to address identified vulnerabilities and enhance overall security posture.
  • Collaborate with other IT professionals, including network engineers, developers, and system administrators, to integrate cloud security measures seamlessly into existing systems and processes.
  • Continuously research and stay updated on the latest advancements and best practices in cloud security.

Building Blocks of Success

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • 5 years of cloud security experience, with a focus on designing and implementing secure cloud computing solutions.
  • Strong expertise working in Microsoft Azure environments.
  • Understanding of cloud computing technologies, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
  • Knowledge of security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and CIS Controls.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and tactically about complex cloud security issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate effectively with other IT professionals.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
  • Proven ability to assess and implement security controls within Azure environments.
  • Familiarity with industry compliance standards and ability to ensure adherence within cloud solutions.
  • Preferred certifications include: CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional), CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), or CCA (Certified Cloud Architect), Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge (CCSK) and Microsoft Azure Cloud Security Certification Path
