The Corporation for Ohio Appalachian Development (COAD) is a 50-year-old nonprofit organization that provides direct services for Ohio’s Appalachian counties in Early Care and Education, AmeriCorps Seniors, Weatherization and Energy Efficiency, and serves the state of Ohio in its accredited Weatherization Training Center. We are currently seeking a talented individual who is passionate about “making a difference” in their community to join our growing team. 

The Opportunity:

We are currently seeking a Senior Services Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the development and operation of the AmeriCorps Seniors Foster Grandparent/Senior Companion Program (FGP/SCP) in coordination with the COAD and AmeriCorps Seniors Program Advisory Council. 

Key Responsibilities include:

· Plan and develop all phases of AmeriCorps Seniors FGP/SCP operations

· Assist with hiring, training, and supervising staff to efficiently carry out, maintain and develop operations of the program

· Provide support, information and materials for coordinators and appraise staff performance

· Recruit, select, orient and place volunteers with volunteer stations

· Develop and maintain appropriate fiscal, personnel, program and volunteer records and reports

· Enhance the total efforts of AmeriCorps Seniors FGP/SCP through active involvement with community organizations, other national service programs 

· Keep AmeriCorps Seniors Advisory Council members informed and solicit their participation and advice on matters affecting program operations

· Work in cooperation with COAD staff, Advisory Council members and volunteer station staff to obtain resources for programs

· Arrange for formal and regular recognition of volunteers, organizations and individuals who have contributed to the support of AmeriCorps Seniors FGP/SCP

· In conjunction with AmeriCorps Seniors FGP/SCP staff, develop and maintain close coordination and relationships with volunteer stations, including development of volunteer assignment plans

Requirements

Key Qualifications:

· Associate degree and/or training/experience working with those over 55 years of age and volunteers is essential

· Background and/or education is Social Work is a plus

· Experience in a health care environment

· Management skills and strong computer literacy

· Experience managing federal grants is preferred

· Must have excellent written and oral communication skills necessary for preparing grants, written reports and giving oral presentations and trainings

· Ability to attend after hours and weekend meetings/events is required

· Ability to travel regionally.
