The Corporation for Ohio Appalachian Development (COAD) is a 50-year-old nonprofit organization that provides direct services for Ohio’s Appalachian counties in Early Care and Education, AmeriCorps Seniors, Weatherization and Energy Efficiency, and serves the state of Ohio in its accredited Weatherization Training Center. The Opportunity: 

We are currently seeking a Parent Educator Specialist to join our team. In this role, will be responsible for working with families within the COAD region. This role will have a variety of responsibilities related to parent education and other childcare related education. 

Key Responsibilities include:

· Hosts and instructs parent education classes available to families.

· Attends monthly meetings with funders about recruitment planning, goal setting, and reporting throughout the region.[MC1] 

· Attends COAD meetings, conferences, and professional development sessions applicable to this position and disseminates acquired information to appropriate individuals within the organization.

· Maintains databases to inform reporting and outreach efforts; assists with coordination of regional data, create and administers surveys, and oversees parent intake collection, reporting, and analysis within the district offices.

· Assists with the implementation of special projects, contracts, and opportunities that arise during any given fiscal year. 

· Be an ambassador for COAD and contribute metrics, stories, and other content to marketing and brand development.

· Bring new ideas, innovative solutions, and unlikely partners to the table with networking and outreach within the COAD region in the R&R network, with other nonprofit groups, etc. as viable avenues to help COAD grow and thrive.

· Set personal professional goals and demonstrate efforts to achieve them, whether through educational opportunities, readings, mentorship relationships, or other appropriate means.

· Represents COAD among other agencies, departments, organizations and: participates in regional, state, and national workgroups and committees. Presents a positive public image of COAD and: may make community presentations related to special projects as assigned. Maintains professional confidentiality in all aspects of service delivery.

Requirements

Key Qualifications:· 

*Minimum of an associate degree in a related field is required (bachelor’s degree preferred). · 

*Experience with Ohio’s childcare system and experience in community outreach and community presentations is preferred.

*Fluency in specific applications and software programs - generally including Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), as well as all applications specific to the Division (examples: publishing, online training software, databases, etc.).
