Johnny’s Markets is changing the way people think about convenience stores, and as an Area Manager, you’ll play a key role in developing, training, and supervising Store Managers while also helping with hiring, performance management, disciplinary actions and general managerial duties. With direction from our Operations Director, you’ll complete store audits, action plans, and provide guidance on brand initiatives and operations. This position requires travel up to 95% of the time.

 What You'll Do

• Provide active, onsite leadership to store management to ensure proper procedures and policies are being followed and standards are being met, along with all federal, state, and local regulations.
• Recruit, interview, hire, train, develop, and coach, Site Managers, while also assisting Site Management with their staff, including disciplinary action, in accordance with Company policy and procedure.
• Conduct performance appraisals of Site Managers and implement goals to aid in their development and success.
• Complete regular audits as required to assess compliance with policies and operational performance. Follow up with constructive feedback and action plans for improvement as needed.
• Analyze store performance, and review results with Site Managers, providing feedback and developing action plans to achieve desired performance.
• Demonstrate, and instill the importance of, a high level of customer service.
• Address customer feedback, and assist site management in do so, in a timely, professional, and effective, manner.
• Perform duties of a Site Manager when needed to achieve Company standards.

 What You’ll Need

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business preferred or equivalent job experience.
• 5-7 years of management experience preferred, but not required.
• Valid driver’s license and the ability to drive for extended periods of time.
• Basic computer and software knowledge (Microsoft Word, Excel, and email); ability to learn and utilize the store’s retail software technology.
• Knowledge of performance management, team building, labor management and scheduling, and expense management.
• Ability to work with little to no supervision while effectively completing job functions
• The position is regularly required to stand, walk, balance, stoop, or kneel, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
