Corporate Facility Services is Hiring a Site Safety and Health Officer / QCM Near Fort Rucker, AL

Job SummaryFSI would like to hire a Site Safety & Health Officer/QC. This role will monitor the workplace activities to ensure workers comply with company policies and government safety regulations. Assists with the Organization’s safety improvement efforts, such as developing and administrating the program, training, and coaching of employees while facilitating a safe work environment at this site and throughout the Organization.
Prepares high quality end of month progress reports for the Safety Program and submits them to the Supervisor for review.
Responsibilities Include The Following. Other Duties May Be Assigned.
  • Develops, implements and maintains the Site-Specific Safety Plan, other EHS policies and oversight of emergency response plans to include OSHA regulations regarding SDS compliance.
  • Writes and reviews all Activity Hazard Analysis’ (AHA).
  • Writes, implements, reviews and enforces the LOTO program. This includes all equipment specific LOTO procedures.
  • Conducts and document Safety Orientations and weekly staff safety meetings.
  • Conducts mishap investigations and near miss cases.
  • Corrects any safety deficiencies or unsafe acts and if immediate action is required exercise emergency authority to rectify.
  • Ensures all departments are following federal, state, OSHA and EM 385-1-1 regulations by conducting safety training.
  • Ensures that tasks requiring infection control procedures are performed IAW the Hospital ICRA policies.
  • Performs daily Safety and Equipment Inspections to include PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) for the specific work activity being performed.
  • Presents weekly safety toolbox talks and safety briefings; ensuring HAZMAT standards are met and implements the Hazard Communication Program.
  • Develops and analyzes statistical data to determine present standards and establishes proposed quality and reliability expectations.
  • Formulates and maintains quality control objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals.
  • Creates and implements inspection criteria and procedures. Interprets quality control philosophy to key personnel in organization.
  • Coordinates objectives with performance procedures in cooperation with other managers to maximize equipment reliability and minimize costs.
  • Provides inspection activity for preventative maintenance and service orders throughout the task cycle to include inspection of IJO Contractor work.
  • Ensures that FSI meets or exceeds all Government contract requirements regarding Safety and Quality Control standards as outlined in the PWS.
  • Researches, proposes and submits acquisition details for purchasing safety products, PPE, safety training courses, signage, etc.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by the Project Manager/Superintendent.
Education And/or Work Experience Requirements
  • Minimum two (2) years' experience performing quality control inspections of industrial/commercial equipment in a healthcare setting, including, but not limited to: Chillers (air-cooled and water-cooled) and associated components, Cooling Towers, High-efficiency boilers, Air-Handling Units (VAV system), Hot Water Heaters, Switchgear, Diesel Generators, Mechanical Water Treatment systems, Fire Protection/Suppression systems, and Elevators.
  • Minimum two (2) years' experience performing quality control inspections of the preventive maintenance procedures for industrial/commercial equipment in a healthcare setting, including, but not limited to: Chillers (air-cooled and water-cooled) and associated components, Cooling Towers, High-efficiency boilers, Air-Handling Units (VAV system), Hot Water Heaters, Switchgear, Diesel Generators, Mechanical Water Treatment systems, Fire Protection/Suppression systems, and Elevators.
  • Knowledge of codes, regulations, and standards including, but not limited to: NFPAs, ASHE, ASHRAE, NEC, UFC, IBC.
  • Have completed 30 Hours OSHA General Industry or Construction Course and provide a signed card.
  • Resume or certificates demonstrating, for a minimum of the last five (5) years, the SSHO has maintained competencies through 8-hours of formal safety and health related training per year.
  • Resume demonstrating five (5) years of continuous safety experience in supervising or managing general industry/construction/O&M, including managing safety programs or processes or conducting hazard analyses and developing controls.
  • Ability to develop and establish Health & Safety policies, plans, and procedures.
  • Demonstrated skills in objective problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using basic Microsoft Windows based programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and various proprietary security systems software.
  • First-Aid and CPR qualifications preferred.
  • High school diploma.
  • Professional Safety Course.
  • EM385-1-1 training (Desired).
