We are seeking Night Shift Registered Nurses for our facility in Huntington.

Cornerstone Specialty Hospitals Huntington is designed as a bridge in the continuum of care and is intended to provide intensive, specialized care for medically complex patients that require a longer treatment and recovery period. Our goal is to treat the immediate and long-term needs of the patients with the goal of helping each patient reach the next level of well-being on their path to a full recovery. We are a long term acute care hospital where our team plays a vital role in the recovery process for chronic, critically ill and medically complex patients. We are located within St Mary's Medical Center, off 3rd Ave, with easy access to OH-7 close to the East Huntington Bridge at: 2900 First Avenue, Two East, Huntington, WV 25702.

Position Summary:

The Registered Nurse, with appropriate competency completions, is responsible for the direct and indirect nursing care of all patients ranging in age from 18 years to geriatric experiencing medically complex conditions, general medical-surgical conditions, with rehabilitation and/or wound care needs. The RN is also responsible for the overall direction and supervision of all patient care during his/her shift. Demonstrates the knowledge and skill to carry out the nursing process when providing patient care. Satisfies the established standards of the nursing practice. Supervises and delegates patient care tasks to LVN/LPN or CNA and other patient care team members. Promotes teamwork with physicians and personnel of other departments. As appropriate, the Registered Nurse takes into consideration the patients’ age in the performance of any task.

Qualifications:

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing
• Two or more years of acute care experience or rehabilitation as a registered nurse is preferred
• A Registered Nurse who is currently licensed to practice, in good standing, by the state of employment
• ACLS certification required within 6 months of employment
• If working in ICU, current ACLS is required upon hire and throughout employment
