Culinary/Dietary Aide

Job Summary:

This position is primarily responsible for dining room meal service to residents. The Culinary/Dietary Aide performs designated work and cleaning routines for the Dietary Department and is accountable to the Culinary Supervisor and Community Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Place items such as eating utensils, napkins and condiments on the tables
  • Prepares beverages and sets them on tables
  • Serves meals
  • Washes dishes and cleans the work area, tables, cabinets, dishwasher and ovens.
  • Sweep and mops the floors
  • Collects and places garbage and trash in designated containers and takes it out to the dumpster.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Follow Meal serving schedule and procedures
  • Offers resident meal choices and meets resident’s specific dietary needs
  • Accommodates resident requests such as requests for food substitution, change in seating, etc.
  • Ability to follow food service and cleaning procedures
  • Ability to understand and follow sanitation procedures
  • Ability to use food preparation and serving tools safely and effectively.
  • Provide kitchen support when required
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of food safety and food preparation.
  • High School diploma/ GED or one to three months of related experience.
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate in English

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to Prioritize.
  • Ability to handle fast paced environment
  • Food safety knowledge

Physical Requirements:

  • Stand, sit and walk for long periods of time.
  • Full ranges of motion to climb, balance, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Occasionally lift/or move up to 25 pounds
