Cornerstone Family Healthcare is a patient-focused Federally Qualified Health Center located in the Hudson Valley Region of upstate New York – just 70 miles north of New York City. We are currently searching for an experienced General Dentist to join our growing team in New City and Newburgh.

RATE OF PAY/SALARY: $163,000 - $173,000 annually plus bonus opportunities

WORK LOCATION(S): New City, NY and Newburgh, NY

STATUS: Full Time

Typical Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday 9-5, Saturday 9-2 (one per month)

The Position:

  • General dentistry reporting directly to the Chief of Dentistry
  • Collegial environment with the latest oral health technology

JOB SUMMARY:

  • The staff Dentist is responsible for providing diagnostic, prophylactic, and treatment services to the patients of CORNERSTONE within dental procedures adopted by the Center.
  • Provide direct dental care, which includes exam and diagnosis, x-ray, placements and restoration, construction of prosthesis, teeth extractions, and root canal therapy.
  • Provide consultation to Director regarding planning, evaluation and development dental services.
  • Coordinate dental services with other professional services.
  • Maintain accurate, timely and up-to-date patient files and records.
  • Maintain cognizance of State and Federal regulations and to effect CORNERSTONE’s compliance for reporting, licensing and code requirements.
  • Participate in meetings, conferences, and committees to develop and maintain high quality health care and complete patient care plans and reviews.
  • Maintain records files, logs and reports in accordance with Center policy.
  • Maintain and care for equipment.
  • Attend and participate in monthly department, All Staff and other required meetings.
  • Be familiar with and adhere to all clinical, administrative, and general policies and procedures as outlined in the CORNERSTONE Policy and Procedure Manual and Employee Handbook.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all aspects of CORNERSTONE including, but not limited to, patient confidentiality, financials, and employee relations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • DDS or DMD
  • New York State licensed
  • Basic Life Support certified
  • Minimum of 5 years experience
  • If practicing in a specialty field, must have a specialty Board Certification.
  • Thorough knowledge and practice of current quality dental practices and procedures.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperatively working relationships and communicate effectively.
  • Interest in employment in Community Health Center setting and in public health.
  • Good judgment and decision making ability.
  • Flexible, responsible, tactful, resourceful, and objective.
  • Good health and attendance record.
