Opportunity Highlights
- MCS program started in 2009 and has become one of the highest volumes in the nation for ECMO and Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD)
- Richard DeVos Heart and Lung Transplant program started in 2010 and has completed 181 heart, 250 lung, and 461 durable LVADs to date
- Largest open heart surgery program in Michigan with 1,600 open heart surgery procedures, 300 TAVRs, 100 ECMO/year
- Opportunity to function as a dedicated organ procurement surgeon in support of the Heart and Lung Transplant programs
- Active role in the ECMO program, including assessment, management of the patients and cannulation
- Possible opportunities to assist in cardiothoracic surgery or other responsibilities commensurate with experience

Preferred Qualifications
- BC/BE Cardiothoracic Surgeon (or Board Eligible) American Board of Thoracic Surgery or Equivalent
- Heart and lung procurement experience preferred, but not required
- Cardiothoracic Surgery Training
Requirements
- Able to obtain a full unrestricted Michigan license
Qualifications
- Required Bachelor's Degree
- LIC-Physician (MD) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required Or
- LIC-Osteopathic Physician (DO) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
- CRT-DEA Registration - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 120 Days required Or
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 120 Days required
- CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association If required by specialty or stress test performed 120 Days required
