Scope of work
Reviews patient chart and selects most appropriate procedural methodology.
Performs ultrasound tests appropriate for patient specific morphology and pathology. Performs calculations per protocol, uses critical thinking skills to assess validity of calculations.
Informs patients, significant others and members of the health care team about procedures, equipment being utilized and other related activities as appropriate.
Calculates acquired data, prepares materials for medical staff interpretation.
Actively demonstrates ongoing continuous education efforts in field of Cardiac Sonography and demonstrates professional commitment by membership in local and national Sonography Society.

- Back-up to Big Rapids and Reed City for PTO, high volumes, sick call coverage
- Mileage is reimbursed per policy
- Will be part of weekend and Holiday teams; working in Grand Rapids (Meijer Heart Center / Blodgett)
- Weekends = 1 every 8th
- Holidays = approx 1-2
- No Call
- Required Associate's Degree from an accredited ultrasound program or equivalent
- Prefer Bachelor's Degree
- Skills, knowledge, abilities typically gained through schooling training and experience related to echo including in two-dimensional, doppler, color doppler, transesophageal echocardiology (TEE), transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE), stress echo and understanding of complex congenital heart disease and surgical repairs. Required
- 3 years of relevant experience in two-dimensional, doppler, color doppler, transesophageal echocardiology (TEE), transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE), stress echos and understanding of complex congenital heart disease and surgical repairs (Preferred)
- Credentials for RCS or Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, Registered (RDCS) - ARDMS American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography are Required within 180 Days
AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days
