Corewell Health Corporate is Hiring an Assistant Nurse Manager Ortho Near Royal, MI

About the unit

9SE is a Level I trauma and post-operative medical-surgical unit that specialized in musculoskeletal conditions including total joint arthroplasty, spine surgery, fragility fractures and multiple traumas. We also specialize in the care of plastic/breast reconstruction surgery. We are part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team supported by many members including case management, pharmacy, physical and occupational therapy, advanced practice providers and physicians. The nurse working on this unit will be well prepared to care for patients with a wide variety of co-morbidities while attaining experience with surgical patients coming from the recovery room.

Scope of work 

Under the direction of the Nurse Manager or other nursing leader, the Assistant Nurse Manager has responsibility for the effective implementation of the philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures of the hospital and the nursing department and their effect on patient care in the department.

Qualifications

  • Required Associate's Degree in Nursing
  • Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or MSN
  • 2 years of relevant experience nursing experience required
  • Participation in leadership activities (Unit, hospital or system Shared Governance meetings, Precepting, Charge nurse role, etc.,). Preferred
  • LIC-Registered Nurse (RN) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required upon hire
  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Required within 6 months
