  • Pay: $19/hr base, $2 additional premium once trained
  • Shift: 1pm start time
  • In the position you will be required to do general warehouse loading and unloading of the trailers, when you are not moving trailers in the yard
Position Purpose:
The Yard Driver, Non-CDL is responsible for moving tractor trailers to/from the loading docks and parking loaded or empty trailers in designated areas in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Communicates and interacts with customers, vendors and co-workers professionally ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.
Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
  • Performs inspections and moves trailers safely following all DOT regulations and company safe-driving policies.
  • Fuels, moves, and parks tractors and trailers to the docks.
  • Transports tractor trailers to offsite maintenance and/or inspection facilities; requires local city driving.
  • Secures trucks, trailers, and equipment always. Completes all required documentation.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent
6 months driving experience Internal candidates may be promoted with less than 6 months experience with good performance record in accordance with driver training program requirements.
Must be able to work the scheduled, assigned times and required overtime for the position.
Valid non-commercial driver's license
Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable)
Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years
Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
Pass road test
Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout shift; product generally ranges from between 10-35 pounds and up to between approximately 60 and 90 pounds, depending on the location
Preferred Qualifications
1 years Foodservice distribution industry experience
Onboard computer and electronic log system experience (i.e., PeopleNet)
