Principal Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for electrical hardware design and integration, requirements management, component derating, schematic capture, PCB layout oversite, DC-DC power supply design, troubleshooting and support activities through all phases of product development including qualification and validation testing. This is NOT an Engineering Technician position.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering
• Must have a minimum of 7 - 10 years design engineering experience
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Works to create schematics, operational diagrams, written and verbal descriptions.
• Ensures electrical design to requirement.
• Supports electrical testing and troubleshooting.
• Responsible for owning electrical hardware design and all design lifecycle activities.
In addition, any supporting test articles, fixtures, wire harnesses, and representative loads necessary for design, qualification, or production use (such as acceptance test procedures), are also included in design duties as required.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE
• Experience with NX & Team Center
• Experience with Altium Design and SVN repositories and clients
• Experience with Aerospace products
• Experience with DO-160 or MIL-STD environmental qualification.
• Experience with Oxygen Systems or Passenger Service Units (PSUs)
• Experience with software within circuit board designs
PREFERRED EXPEREIENCE
• Experience designing and troubleshooting DC-DC power supplies, including EMI filtering and management.
• Electrical component obsolescence and alternate parts mitigation.
