JOB TITLE: CERTIFIED MA OR LVN for Physician Order Entry

JOB STATUS: Full-time

SALARY: $20-$25 an hour

LOCATION: Glendale, CA

Cordial Healthcare Providers is currently seeking to hire a full-time CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT OR LICENSED VOCATIONAL NURSE for Computerized Physician Order Entry to start ASAP! We are looking for knowledgeable applicants with outstanding customer service skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Enter new prescription or refill orders into computer system ordered by our medical providers-NPs/PAs. Obtain provider’s approval for refills and fax the order to pharmacy.
• Follows Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) protocols.
• Ensures that Pharmacy receives the faxed medication order/s.
• Assists with Laboratory and Diagnostic test orders.
• Maintains an environment that aims to maximize patient safety through medication safety measures, effective communication, strict attention to detail and high level of accuracy. This includes competence in using electronic medical record and CPOE for all Physician/Nurse Practitioner/PA orders.
• Ensures accuracy of patient information entered into the system.
• Assists medical providers when needed such as requesting for medication list from the Pharmacy or Home health.
• Works closely with medical providers, Home health staff and patients.
• Provides immediate reports such as change in patient’s condition, reports we receive from Home Health, lab and diagnostic results to medical providers and/or Supervising MDs.
• Handles all calls concerning medication, laboratory and diagnostic orders.
• Ensures patient's right to privacy, safety and confidentiality are maintained in accordance with HIPPA regulations.
• Answers calls professionally and provides excellent customer service.
• Assists other staff when needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Education

Requirements for a Certified Medical Assistant position:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One of the following certifications are accepted and required at the time of hire: Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) by the National Healthcare Association (NHA); Nationally Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) by NCCT; Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by the AAMA; Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) by AMT; or CMAC Clinical Medical Assistant Certification by the AMCA.

Requirements for a Licensed Vocational Nurse:

• Current valid California LVN license
• New grad is welcome to apply

Other Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong computer, written, and verbal skills
• Demonstrated ability to be self-directed with excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills with strict attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• 1 year of administrative/clerical experience in a medical setting which includes experience in entering prescription orders into computer system. (Preferred but not required)
• Proficient in English is required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology, basic laboratory values and diagnostic tests, treatment assessments, and HIPAA.
• Experience with basic computer software- Excel, Microsoft word, Adobe Acrobat and the ability to learn electronic medical records.
• Ability to work as a team member as well as individually.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, stay organized and ensuring excellent patient experience and care.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
