SUMMARY

Responsible for the Operator Training Program for the Manufacturing Department. The primary focus is to create and deliver training to employees within the Manufacturing Department. Will also evaluate the current situation to continually improve the Training Program. This applies to those directly involved in the manufacturing process. For example, New Operator Training, skill enhancement of current operators and supervisors, and project and process specific training. This position reports to the Manger, Training.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Establishes and maintains strong, transparent, and effective day-to-day working relationships between Manufacturing, Maintenance & Facilities, R&D, internal support, regulatory groups, and CPC customers related to assigned duties
  • Participates in interviewing and selection of candidates for Chemical Operator positions
  • Ensures efficient and effective introduction of new operating resources into the Manufacturing Department. Acts as the primary resource to introduce value, cultural, and behavioral expectations to new Manufacturing Operators
  • Delivers on-crew training as appropriate. Assists in the development and improvement of training documents for plant specific operations and Operator Training
  • Reviews and updates operations training materials to ensure that they are maintained, up to date, and are accurate
  • Assists the Training and Plant Supervisors in the evaluation of new operators and identifies training gaps in the manufacturing operating ranks
  • Identifies and implements improved training methods to increase operator effectiveness. This includes developing or enhancing in-house programs and practices to identify developmental needs, including preparing personnel for more responsible positions, and increasing effectiveness in present assignments
  • Lead and or assist with training activities associated with CAPAs
  • Performs training needs assessments to ensure training is being implemented where necessary
  • Works with the HR Training Department to continue to improve the Training System and how training is initiated, executed, and tracked
  • Works with the Implementation Specialists to develop and initiate training curriculums for each process
  • Identifies and implements training programs that increase supervisor effectiveness in their role in influencing operator work practices
  • Performs special assignments as time allows
  • Implements and maintains adherence to all company policies concerning Environmental, Health, Safety, Quality, and Human Resources
LEADERSHIP & BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no direct supervisory or budget responsibilities; however, there is critical responsibility for training operators in proper operating techniques. The Trainer will, as needed, assist the Plant Supervisors in the administration and application of crew training and tracking of training status.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree (BS) from a four 4-year college; or 10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

SALARY

Actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.
