Position Summary: The Materials Planner is responsible for the acquisition and strategy for ALL Production and Non-Production Materials needed within the Grandview Plant. Responsible for implementing sourcing strategies through team facilitation with technical groups, plant personnel, and suppliers. Facilitates inventory accuracy as it relates to production materials. Accountable for cost improvement projects which meet the departmental goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High School diploma required. Prefer BS degree in relevant discipline and/or experience in related roles.

Experience:

• 3 - 5 years relevant experience in manufacturing, procurement or supply chain related fields required.
• Excellent negotiation skills and strong interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge of ERP systems; knowledge of BPCS preferred.
• Analytical experience, experience manipulating data.
• High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite with strong emphasis in Excel and PowerPoint. Excellent written, verbal, analytical and keyboard skills.

Essential Job Functions:

• Understand and collect category needs (from global procurement, brand development and supply chain); Manage supplier/raw material portfolios within respective categories. Collect and present market intelligence and analysis in various forms.
• Process raw material, packaging material and re-sale item purchase orders. Managing BPCS receipts and daily processing of all inbound shipment receipts. These tasks require attention to detail when entering receipts to minimize and prevent invoicing related problems.
• Notifying buyer of any back orders or received packaged problems daily so that they can be communicated to the necessary personnel through open orders reporting.
• Facilitating inventory control of all received goods so that they are properly distributed to the Purchase Order claimant or placement and accountability to the designated production area.
• Inventory accountability: resolved by periodic cycle counts.
• Implement the sourcing strategies resulting in savings projects. Responsible for strategy and savings reporting; managing and reporting the total contract commitments for category responsibilities; Implements and supports the company's procurement negotiation plans for entering into strategic procurement relationships with selected suppliers. Assess and establish appropriate contractual approaches towards suppliers.
• Work and communicate effectively with peers and management from all departments as it relates to the scope of the position.
• Consistent contribution of innovative ideas and communication and ability to implementation/planning/follow-through.
• Consistent delivery of data and reporting required from position to both peers and supervisors.
• Perform order processing of Non-Inventoried Items related to Production and Office Supplies.
• Performs other related job tasks as assigned by Supply Chain Manager.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
