Founded in 1947, Coral Ridge Yacht Club is a member-owned private Club located in Southeast Florida. Our membership of 460 enjoys several dining options in our newly renovated 30,000 sq ft. Clubhouse. Club amenities include dining, a swimming pool, a 56-slip marina, fitness, sailing, and coming this spring: The Pointe, an 8,000-square-foot outdoor dining facility, grab-n-go market, and a pickleball court.

The mission of the Coral Ridge Yacht Club is to provide our diverse membership a high-quality private Club experience, rich with opportunities to engage in social, dining, yachting, and recreational activities, distinguished by modern amenities, in a friendly, welcoming environment.

Position Summary

As a Marina Dockhand, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of the marina facilities. Your primary duties will include assisting boaters with docking and departure, maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of the docks, providing excellent customer service, and supporting the overall operations of the marina.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Boat Assistance

· Assist boaters with docking and undocking procedures

· Provide guidance to ensure safe maneuvering within the marina

Customer Service

· Provide courteous and professional assistance to marina guests

· Answer inquiries and offer information about marina services and amenities

· Address any marina concerns or issues promptly and effectively

Dock Maintenance

· Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning docks, removing debris, monitoring and replacing worn dock hardware

· Ensure proper functioning of utilities such as power pedestals and water hook-ups

Safety Compliance

· Enforce marina rules and regulations to promote safety and security for all users

· Monitor weather conditions and water levels, and assist in implementing safety protocols as necessary

Equipment Operation

· Operate marina equipment such as pontoon boat and dinghies in a safe manner as needed

Emergency Response

· Be prepared to respond to emergencies such as medical incidents, fires, or accidents

· Coordinate with management and emergency services as needed to ensure a prompt and effective response

Inventory Management

· Assist in maintaining inventory levels of supplies and equipment for daily marina operations

· Report any shortages or deficiencies to management for replenishment

Environmental Stewardship

· Help promote environmentally responsible practices within the marina

· Ensure marina maintains Clean Marina status with proper disposal of waste and pollution prevention measures

Sailing Center and Boat Rental

· Conduct thorough inspections of rental boats before and after each use to ensure they are in good working condition and comply with safety standards. Check for any damage, mechanical issues, or missing equipment and report findings to management as needed.

· Assist customers with loading personal belongings onto rental boats and provide instructions on operating boat controls, safety features, and emergency procedures. Ensure all required safety equipment, such as life jackets and fire extinguishers, is onboard and properly secured.

· Assist with routine maintenance tasks on rental boats, such as cleaning interiors and exteriors, refueling or recharging batteries, and checking fluid levels. Report any maintenance issues or repairs needed to management for prompt resolution.

Pumpout Operations

· Operate pumpout equipment efficiently and safely to remove wastewater from vessels’ holding tanks

· Log pumpout operation time to comply with Clean Vessel Act grant

Required Qualifications:

· Prior experience in customer service or marine-related role is preferred

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills

· Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physical tasks such as lifting and carrying heavy objects

· Basic knowledge of boating and seamanship principles

· Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.

Experience and Education:

· High school diploma required
