Purpose of this position:
To support the effective operation of the facility’s kitchen by maintaining properly sanitized and a
sufficient stock of dishes and assist the cook with meal prep to ensure the orderly flow of the kitchen systems.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required. At least one-year prior experience in food service in long term care
preferred.
Work Listing:
1. Follow oral and written directions.
2. Set up trays and food service carts accurately and timely.
3. Serve and bus trays.
4. Pour and cover beverages.
5. Assist in preparing, covering and labeling food.
6. Clean work area.
7. Assist in the proper care, use and cleaning of kitchen equipment.
8. Attend in-service training programs for Food Service Team Members.
9. Observe infection control procedures related to the Dietary Department.
10. Follow Facility safety program.
11. Come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality.
12. Accept assigned duties in a cooperative manner.
13. Assume accountability for data contained in the Team Members’ handbook.
14. Perform other related duties as directed by his/her supervisor.
15. Perform all other duties assigned in an effective, timely and professional manner.
16. Always follow Residents’ Rights policies.
17. Observe all Facility policies and procedures.
18. Assume Quality Assurance duties as assigned.
19. Come to work in neat, clean attire and consistently present an appropriate professional appearance.
20. Consistently work cooperatively with residents, residents’ representatives, Facility staff, physicians, consultants and ancillary service providers.
21. Adhere to break, meal and clock in/out procedures.
22. Adhere to Hazardous Communication policies and procedures including using PPE as required.
23. Must have current food handlers permit.

Working Conditions / Physical Environment:
The physical demands and work environment described herein is a representative of those that generally
must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:
• This position primarily involves standing, walking, twisting, reaching, bending/stooping, pushing and
pulling (typical weight of 15 lbs. and maximum weight of 75 lbs., approximately), and lifting (minimum weight of 15 lbs. and maximum weight of 100 lbs., approximately)
• The position requires repetitive finger movements as well as hearing and talking on the phone and in
person.
• Must be able to continuously deal effectively with stress created by residents, multiple tasks, noises,
interruptions, and work cooperatively as part of the health care team while maintaining a pleasant attitude.
